Full access to the Information Commons is restricted to current staff and students of the University. Alumni are now able to access the IC during staffed service hours but holders of other External (white) UCards or University Library External Borrower cards are not able to use the Information Commons.

More information is available at http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/infocommons/visitors/access

Visitors have the option of applying for an External Borrower card (fees may be charged) or an External Reader card and you will be able to access Western Bank Library.

Alternatively, if visiting the Library for just a day, a Visitor Pass can be obtained at the entrance to Western Bank Library and the Health Sciences Library, Royal Hallamshire Hospital. Photo ID is required. Membership of the Library is restricted to over 18s. (16-17 year olds can, with parental/carer consent, obtain an External Reader card.)

Material held in the IC can be requested and collected from any other Library site.
