Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a popular way to distribute information from websites and a great way to avoid repeating the same manual search over and over again.

RSS feeds provide a way of receiving the latest information from online resources when they add new content, without needing to re-visit web pages or re-submit a complicated search.

Why would you want to use an RSS feed?

It's a great tool for current awareness, automatically alerting you to new resources. Feeds are available from many resources such as BBC News headlines, weather forecasts, NASA space images and, of course, StarPlus

How do I set up an RSS feed from StarPlus?

RSS feeds are available for searches in Everything, University Collections and Articles and More searches.

Search for a topic of interest and copy the unique RSS feed address to keep checking for any updates to the search. That’s why it’s Really Simple!

Click on the RSS link circled above to see a unique feed address which you can copy.

In order to follow all your RSS feeds, you’ll need to add the unique RSS feed address to a reader service, such as Feed Reader or News Aggregator software.
