Yes you can apply for reader membership.
If you wish to access the Library for the day and look at material on a reference only basis, or whilst you are waiting for your membership to be processed ( we strongly encourage applying for membership), a Temporary Library Card can be obtained at:
- The welcome desk at Western Bank Library,
- The Health Sciences Library at The Royal Hallamshire.
You will need to bring photo ID and proof of date of birth with you. The card will last for three weeks and you will need to bring it with you every time you visit the Library.
If you are still in year 11 or below (or under 16), you are not eligible for library membership, and can only enter if accompanied by a responsible adult aged over 18.
Please Note: Visitors aged between 16 and 18 years old can only apply for a temporary library card or an external reader membership if your date of birth is on or before 30th August 2000.
