Q. Can I access Special Collections and Archives?

Special Collections, Heritage and Archives welcome both the academic community and the wider public.

Descriptions of archives held by Special Collections and Archives, the National Fairground and Circus Archive and the University Archives can now be searched using Discover Our Archives. 

All Special Collections and Archives material (including the National Fairground and Circus Archive) can be accessed for reference use only. Please book your visit at least three working days in advance. To book your visit email lib-special@sheffield.ac.uk. Proof of identity is required, e.g. University ID or passport/driving licence.

Special Collections and Archives are situated on Level 4 in Western Bank Library. If you are unable to use stairs please let us know in advance.  Please see access information for visitors with mobility difficulties.
