When using a University PC, it is not possible to download software from the web - instead you must use the CiCS Software Center. If you just want to use your EndNote Online account to add and edit reference entries in your EndNote library, this is not a problem, but if you need to use the 'Cite While You Write' facility to automatically generate bibliographies then the EndNote plug-in file for Microsoft Word is needed. To get this when using a University PC:
  1. First close Microsoft Word
  2. Open the CiCS Software Center (this can be found on the PC desktop)
  3. Search for 'endnote' and download EndNote X8
  4. Open Microsoft Word
  5. You should see a tab in Word that says 'EndNote' - if so, you can use this normally. If this says 'EndNote X8' however, you just need to change the preferences to display references from EndNote Online. To do this, click on the EndNote X8 tab, select preferences, choose the 'Application' tab on the pop-up window, change this to 'Endnote online', enter your EndNote username and password and this will now sync with your EndNote Online account.
