University members
University members are those with access to MUSE, and will have been given a university username and password when they joined the university. This may be current students, staff, or associate staff.

  • The easiest way to log in to StarPlus is to access it via the My services menu in MUSE.
  • You are logged in to StarPlus if you can see your name in the top right corner.
  • If you can’t see your name, there will be a log in option. Clicking this will prompt you to log in using your MUSE credentials.
  • If you have forgotten your password please contact IT Services.

External Library members
External Library members are those with existing library accounts, but no current record at the University of Sheffield. This may be alumni, external borrowers, or SCONUL users from other institutions.

  • Log in to StarPlus by clicking on the Log in option in the top right corner.
  • Use your UCard number as a username, and the password that you set up when first collecting your UCard.
  • If you have forgotten your password please contact library staff by email at: library@sheffield.ac.uk or telephone at: +44 114 222 7200.
    .

If you have an external reader card you will not be able to log in to StarPlus.
