Vacation loans will start from 6th June 2026, items issued or renewed after that date, which have not been requested by other users, will be due on 5th October 2026.
Recall of loans and borrowing requested items:
During the vacation we will be operating a 15 day recall period in order to ensure that if you need access to items, they are obtainable and that if an item is recalled you have sufficient notice to be able to return it.
Items which have outstanding requests will also be issued for a period of 14 days.
Any items you have requested will be held for 7 days, if you would like us to hold them for longer then please email library@sheffield.ac.uk
Final Year Students:
If you are finishing your studies at the University of Sheffield, please return all of your library material before you leave. If you have returned home, but are still in the UK, you can use the following Freepost link via Royal Mail

Students who have completed their course of study can apply for extended access to Western Bank Library, Information Commons and the Health Sciences Library. This will be for access only - no borrowing or booking of spaces will be available. To qualify for access you must have cleared your library account of all items on loan, access will be until graduation, please complete this form to apply.

15th June:
All outstanding/uncollected undergraduate requests will be cancelled. After this date please re-request any material you still require
24th July:
If you are graduating at the summer ceremony please plan to return all items on your library account by this date.
6th August:
Final date to return any outstanding items.
10th August:
Final year undergraduates IT account closure.
