Yes, you can continue to use EndNote but you will no longer be able to update to the latest version. 

Once a user has downloaded the desktop version of EndNote, they will continue to have access to the application even after their university account is closed, as long as the software remains installed on their device. The status of the user's account does not affect the desktop application directly.

An activated desktop version will not automatically revert to EndNote Basic when the university subscription ends.  A desktop version activated with a product key will remain functional, even without an active university account, until the user uninstalls it or attempts to reinstall it.

As for attachments (such as PDFs) in the desktop version, these will remain intact within the EndNote library. This applies to any desktop version activated with a product key.
