Q. What are the alternatives to Web of Science?

The main alternative to Web of Science is Scopus, which is a comparable multidisciplinary database indexing academic journals, books and conference proceedings. There is a significant degree of overlap in terms of the journal titles indexed, and both include citation tracking and metrics for journals and authors. 

Scopus is a subscription database. To access, start by logging in to MUSE with your university account. From the MyServices menu connect to StarPlus and select the Database A-Z list. You can then search for or navigate to Scopus. View our quick video Using Scopus to find out more.

You can also access Dimensions, another multidisciplinary database that includes citation data, metrics and research grant information.
