Q. Can school and college students use the University Library?

Students aged 16 and 17

Students aged 16 and 17 can access the library only by appointment to consult our collections. A parent, teacher or other responsible adult may fill in our ‘request for materials’ form on their behalf. This will allow the student to visit Western Bank Library on a named date, either to consult specific materials or to use the study space. Organised group visits

We offer organised visits to the University Library for local schools and colleges. These are particularly popular with students undertaking independent research, like an EPQ. As standard, the sessions include a workshop on Library skills, a tour of the Library, and some independent study time. The University Access Team is happy to discuss individual schools and colleges needs.
