Any item may be recalled by the library if requested by another library user. Recalled items must be returned by the date given in the email. They can be returned at any library site.

The library has a No More Fines policy which means:

  • We will automatically renew all items not requested by another library patron.
  • If an item is requested (recalled) and becomes overdue, your account will be frozen so you will be unable to borrow any more items until the requested item is returned. We will continue to automatically renew other items on your account.
  • You will continue to receive overdue reminders until the item is returned.
  • Long overdue items will be marked as Lost, at which point an invoice may be charged to replace the book.

​To avoid your account becoming frozen, please check your library account on StarPlus and/or your Weekly Borrowing Statement and return requested items promptly. Once the items have been returned and discharged from your account, you will be able to borrow again.

It is quick and easy to check the current status of your account by clicking on 'My Library Account' in StarPlus. The status of your loans can change daily and you may be able to renew a item that had been previously recalled.
