Employees of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals (STH), may register with the University library.
All applications are now done online at https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/library/hsl/nhs/registerindex. Assistance can be provided at the Information Desks at RHH and NGH.
Staff from other Sheffield NHS Trusts may apply for External Library Membership.
A Temporary Library Card will be issued to allow access during staffed hours whilst the application is being processed.
When collecting your library card, you will need to provide your STH Trust badge or proof that you work for the Trust and confirmation of your home address (such as a driving license, utility bill or bank statement)
At the point of registration STH staff members will be issued with a green library card for access and for borrowing purposes. On collection of your Ucard you will be asked to provided a four-digit PIN which will allow you to borrow using the self-service facility, and a password which will allow you to access your Library Account online.
Membership enables access to Western Bank and the Health Sciences library in staffed and unstaffed hours. However, this membership does not give STH users access to the University computer network.
