You may take books that you have borrowed, outside Sheffield.  However we do not advise that you take them out of the country because if they are requested by someone else, we recall them. They must then be  returned within 15 days. They can be returned in person to any library site, or by postplease send them to the library you borrowed them from. See the list of the Library sites and their contact details.

The books will remain your responsibility until they have been received at the library, so it is a good idea to send them by recorded delivery.

If a book is requested by someone else you can usually keep it until the due date but you may not be able to renew it. Occasionally we may have to ask for books to be returned earlier than the original due date but we will give you plenty of notice if this is the case.

    • 2 days - University & NHS staff; Postgraduate Research students; Full-time taught-course students; External Borrowers
