We strongly encourage membership if you are visiting the library regularly.  Visitors have the option of applying for various types of membership, so check out the links below to see details of which membership you are eligible for and for details of how to apply.

Alumni NHS employees
External borrowers External readers
Schools and colleges (including the Widening Participation Programme) SCONUL Access (for students and staff studying at higher education institutions)

Applications may take up to three weeks to process and you will be notified when your card is ready for collection. For immediate access you can obtain a Temporary Library Card in staffed hours.

You can select the library site from which to collect your card, and you will need to bring proof of your stated address and photo ID with you.

If you are under 18 you will also need to bring signed parental/carer consent, and proof of date of birth when collecting your card.

If you wish to renew or replace your card, please apply again via the appropriate membership option.
