Q. How do I report an error in StarPlus?

Answer

If you experience problems accessing online content on StarPlus you can report it to us, as it may be a problem with StarPlus or the resource itself. We can contact the provider to report the problem and often provide solutions for you in the interim.

Usually the issue will be that a link on StarPlus does not take you to the correct place, or it takes you to an error page. You may also find that the material is behind a paywall. Before reporting it, you can also test that the problem is not related to your device or browser.

To report an error, please go to the StarPlus record for the item and click the report an issue with this resource link. You will then need to fill in more details on the form that opens - please make sure that you include your contact details and a description of the problem, preferably including a screenshot of any error messages. If you do not provide your contact details we will be unable to respond to you.

It's also worth checking:

  • If it is a journal article, search for the journal title on StarPlus and see if you can access the article by browsing to the volume and issue it was published in.
  • Are the resource details what you expected? If it is only one page long, it is likely to be an abstract rather than a full-text article. If you were looking for a book but this item is published in a journal, it is likely to be a book review.
  • Is there any information about the problem on the eResources Service Indicators webpage?
