Q. How do I search for a book or a journal?

Answer

You can use the simple search box to explore the Library’s print and online collections.

  • Type your search terms in the simple search box. If you are searching for a specific book or article, try typing in the keywords from the title and the author or editor's surname.
  • You can use the dropdown box ('All items') to narrow your search to a specific item type (eg. books).
  • Select 'Search Library' to search content stocked or subscribed to by the University of Sheffield Library.
  • Click on the magnifying glass icon to perform your search.

'All items', 'Search Library', and 'anywhere in the record' are the default settings in StarPlus. If you click on these phrases, a dropdown menu of alternatives will appear.
