Q. How do I search for a topic on StarPlus?

To explore a topic, type your search terms into the simple search box to discover relevant items. 

The Advanced Search gives additional options which may be useful if you want to run a more in-depth search. 

The Library has also produced a tutorial on developing an effective search strategy which contains sections on proximity searching, phrase searching and Boolean searching to help you perform successful subject searches.

If you are undertaking independent research you may wish to move beyond StarPlus by using academic databases to broaden your research. The Discovering tab of the Library Guide for your subject contains information on multidisciplinary databases and subject specific databases.
